I can't help touching my acne spots. Is that bad?
You should absolutely avoid pressing the skin where there is a red spot or even where there is one about to appear.
You might think you're doing no harm, but this highly increases the risk of scarring. There's even a type of acne that dermatologists call "excoriated acne", where there are very few spots but a lot of damage caused by contact with fingernails.
Gently draining a white spot (pustule) is not really a problem, it's a way of cleansing the skin.
In any case, it is best to let a dermatologist do this.
