This type of skin produces too much and poor-quality sebum. The consequences - shiny skin, dilated pores and sometimes blackheads – can be seen with the naked eye. Combination skin, on the other hand, combines the problems of oily skin on the forehead, nose and chin(the T-zone) with those of normal or dry skin on the cheeks.

Dr. Isabelle Gardinal-Galera is here to give you the facts about oily skin.
It shouldn’t be confused with acne-prone skin, which is multifactorial. Numerous studies have shown that acne-prone skin can be promoted by excessive consumption of milk and rapidly absorbed sugars.
Someone with oily skin should therefore pay attention to their diet in order to reduce their risk of developing blemishes . The links between oily skin and diet, however, are still unclear.
The sebaceous glands are dependent on hormones called androgens. These androgens are present in greater quantities during certain periods of life, particularly at puberty, and promote the growth of the sebaceous glands and sebum production. Sebum escess is the first symptom of acne and can precede its onset by several years.
However, you should choose a hydrating product with a light texture such as a mattifying cream that immediately absorbs excess sebum thanks to "blotting powders".
But improvement in skin condition is only temporary. Beware of the rebound effect after sun exposure and increased sebum production and blemishes .
To prevent this, the skin should be protected with a non-comedogenic sun care product. And you should always avoid intense sun exposure.

Combination, oily or acne-prone skin have the same hydration needs as any other type of skin and is just as sensitive.
